Homology
Homology is a reimagined and reconfigurable architectural footprint of 19 Admirals Way. Our process inverted the logical transformation of blueprint to form. Foundational forms or frameworks of each room were constructed at estimated full-scale, using Rimu timbers from the house. An 18 x 10 meter patchwork of builder’s paper, then became the drawing surface for a full-scale stenciled footprint of the framework. Off-set from the drawing, several of the Rimu room forms have folded in on themselves, re-oriented from the horizontal floor plane to a vertical plane as ‘screens’ or room dividers. At the end of the exhibition, the remaining room forms will become screens, stretched with fragments of the house-sized drawing.
